KUBUn näyttelytilojen haku vuodelle 2026 on nyt auki. Haettavana on näyttelyvuoroja Galleriaan, Salonkiin, Lobbyyn, Kellariin ja Boksiin.

Jatkamme vuonna 2025 aloitettua elementti-vuositeemoja ja vuoden 2026 teemana on vesi. Teema ohjaa lähtökohtaisesti omia tuotantojamme ja sen tulkinta näyttelyhakemuksissa on vapaaehtoista. Arvostamme ehdotuksissa suhdetta paikalliseen kulttuuriin, ympäröivään alueeseen sekä kiinnostukseen aktivoida yleisöjämme.

Kirjoita lyhyt vapaamuotoinen hakemus, jossa kuvailet(te) ehdotuksen KUBUn sisä- ja/tai ulkotiloihin. Voit esittää toivomuksia tai rajauksia ajankohdasta ja tilasta, näyttelyohjelma tuotetaan kuitenkin kokonaisuutena ja valitut saavat meiltä usein vastehdotuksen. Ansökning för KUBUs utställningslokaler för 2026 är nu öppen. Vi söker utställningar för Galleriet, Salongen, Lobbyn, Källaren och Box.

Vi fortsätter med inslaget av årliga teman som började 2025 och temat för 2026 är vatten. Temat kommer i grunden att vägleda våra egna produktioner och dess tolkning i utställningsansökningar är fri. Vi värdesätter relationen till lokal kultur, omgivningen och intresset för att aktivera vår publik i förslagen.

Skriv en kort fritt formulerad ansökan där du beskriver ditt förslag för KUBUs interiöra och/eller exteriöra utrymmen. Du kan presentera önskemål eller begränsningar gällande tid och utrymme, men utställningsprogrammet produceras som en helhet och de utvalda får ofta ett motförslag från oss. Skicka din ansökan senast den 19 oktober 2025 till info@kubu.fi.

The call for KUBU exhibition spaces for 2026 is now open. We call exhibitions for Gallery, Salon, Lobby, Cellar and Box.

We will continue the elemental annual themes that began in 2025 and the theme for the year 2026 is water. The theme will act as a framework primarily for our own productions and any adaptations are up to the applicants. We value the relationship to local culture, the surrounding area and the interest in activating our audiences in the proposals.

Write a short free-form application in which you describe your proposal for the interior and/or exterior spaces of KUBU. You can present wishes or limitations regarding the time and space, however, the exhibition program is produced as a whole and those selected will often receive a counterproposal from us. Send your application no later than October 19, 2025 to info@kubu.fi.

ARTIST RESIDENCIES

KUBU will collaborate more closely with the local Artist in Residence -programs. ÖRES residency in the island of Örö and Norpas residency in Dalsbruk are great opportunities to spend more time in the archipelago. Apply ÖRES residency NOW, the deadline is October 10th. Norpas residency will open in November. Mention in your exhibition or residency applications if you apply both exhibition and one of the residencies.

KUBUs own residency program will be ramped up gradually. For now, all artists who are setting up exhibitions can stay and work in the house. We reach out to professionals interested in long-term collaboration in developing KUBU facilities. See the examples in our 2025 summer program here and contact us if you are interested.

Contract in a nutshell:

Rent includes:
– House infra (heating, electricity, water, cleaning, wifi)
– Exhibition attendance (one touring person in the house)
– Press release in 2-3 languages: Fin, Swe, Eng
– Shop point-of-sales (for merchandise sales)
– PR emailing to local press & regional stakeholders (list of 50)
– Email invitation (list of 500)
– Instagram & Facebook pre-promotion + invitation + reminders
– Setup accommodation in KUBU (room per group – own linen)
– In-house poster (print service on-demand)

Artwork sales:
– Sales commission 2025: 30%
– Sold artworks remain in the exhibition until end of the show
– Artworks are invoiced without VAT when applicable (marginaaliverotus)
– The artist is paid 70% of the price within one month of sale of the artwork
– VAT 14% (unique art) included if the artist is VAT registered
